What to Expect at St. Elmo Pres
We are the Church Gathered on the Lord’s Day to experience Covenant Renewal Worship. God speaks through His Word and Sacrament, and we respond through prayer, song, and praise.
Our liturgy is both liturgical and relational. We enjoy singing both older and newer hymns, which reflect God’s story of redemption. We enjoy receiving the Lord’s Supper on the first and third (and sometimes fifth) Sundays of the month. (We have a gluten-free bread option, and we offer both wine and grape juice.)
During the offering, the 3 and 4-year-olds are invited to Little Lambs, a modified worship downstairs. We also have a nursery for infants through 2 years old.
Dress comfortably, enjoy some fellowship both before and after the service. And feel free to be a part of the Church, scattered throughout the week in our Community Groups and Growth Groups.
Where Do We Park?
St. Elmo is a bike-friendly neighborhood. As good neighbors, we try not to park on St. Elmo Avenue in either direction ever since the city designated both directions with bike lanes. Many people who live in the neighborhood walk to church. We do not really have off-street parking.
Handicap Parking
There is handicap parking from St. Elmo Avenue in the church’s turnabout. This is only for cars tagged “handicap”. Two spaces are painted blue on 44th St., by the front of the church as well.
So, access to the church: There is a ramp by the front turnabout that can take you all the way up to the Fellowship Hall doors, or right to the sanctuary off of St. Elmo Avenue.
Places to Park
Parking is allowed all along 44th Street, right by the church, or up closer to Tennessee Ave., and across the street towards Alabama Ave. PLEASE be aware and do NOT block driveways or garages — any residential parking areas. You can park in the back on Virginia Ave. up onto our property. Most people park diagonally in the back. Do NOT block or park in anyone’s driveway!
